Californians: Everything to know before you vote
As a member of one of the world’s largest hiring boards, you and 8 to 15 million of your fellow registered Californians will decide on Nov. 6 who ought to run our state. There’s a long list of positions to fill. You’ll also get a direct say on 11 ballot measures, from repealing the gas tax hike to OKing the return of rent control. Explore this guide to discover:
- Candidate resumes, video interviews, side-by-side issues comparisons and news updates for finalists for governor, U.S. senator, state schools chief and other state posts.
- Our Props-in-a-Minute video series and Gimme Props interactive ballot guide, plus in-depth looks at the arguments, money and endorsements on each side.
- A breakdown of hot Congressional races that may determine whether the Trump administration faces an accommodating Republican or hostile Democratic House of Representatives.
So check out everything our voter guide has to offer—from its quick hits to its deep dives. We’ll keep updating it between now and Election Day.
If you missed the Oct. 22 voter registration deadline, you can still vote conditionally at a county election office or other designated location. Learn more about conditional voting here and find your county office here.
And then choose wisely.
